What level do I need?+
Lessons are for people who understand English but find it hard to speak. Not sure where you are? Book anyway. In the free lesson we’ll work out together whether the format fits.
How much does it cost?+
The first lesson is free. A one-on-one lesson costs $50, or from $32.50 a lesson in a package. Group lessons are $20 a lesson. Prices in euros and tenge are in the Prices section above.
How can I pay?+
By card through Stripe, in US dollars, euros or tenge. Cards issued in Russia can’t be used.
I’ve studied English for years and still freeze. What’s different here?+
You don’t do exercises here. You talk about your own work, your own tasks and your own interviews. Mistakes get fixed on the spot, and you repeat the sentence until it feels natural.
How do lessons work?+
Online, by video call, 50 minutes each. You need a stable connection and headphones with a microphone. The meeting link comes with your booking.
Which time zone are lessons in?+
Yours. The booking calendar shows free times in your local time zone, and paid lessons are scheduled the same way.
Can you help me prepare for a job interview?+
Yes. Bring the job description or the questions you expect, and you’ll practice your answers out loud until they sound natural. We can’t promise you the job, but you’ll walk in having said it all before.
Who teaches?+
Yeltay teaches your free lesson and your one-on-one lessons. Guests occasionally join a group lesson or run a one-off session: Kuanysh, who has worked in US tech teams, and Alexandr, a former student who now works at an international company. Your schedule is agreed before you pay.
How do group lessons work?+
Up to 4 people at a similar level, 8 lessons a month, 50 minutes each. Everyone speaks in every lesson. Groups are forming now: join the waitlist and we’ll email you when a group at your level is ready to start. It’s then a monthly subscription that you can cancel at any time.
How do I schedule paid lessons?+
After you pay, we email you within one business day and agree a regular time with your teacher. You can reschedule a lesson for free up to 24 hours before it starts.
What if I miss a lesson?+
Cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours ahead and the lesson stays in your package. With less notice, or if you don’t attend, it counts as used.
Can I get a refund?+
No. Lesson payments are final: packages are discounted, and the first lesson is free so you can try before you pay. If your teacher cancels a lesson, we reschedule it or refund that lesson, whichever you prefer.
Do I have to buy lessons after the free one?+
No. We’ll explain how paid lessons work, and the decision is yours.
